Culture, Heritage and
Education
Pocomoke City is one of several Lower Eastern Shore town that
hosts and annual Pow Wow honoring the culture of
Native American
Indians. Festivals honoring the history and culture of the
area take place all year long. The Lower Shore is host to many
historic towns and over 20 museums including Costen House, a local
museum in Pocomoke featuring the home (circa 1870) of Pocomoke
City's First Mayor , Dr. Isaac Costen and the Hall-Warton Memorial
Garden.
The Lower Shore is also home to the
NASA Wallops Island Flight Facility. Their
Visitor's
Center provides public outreach.
